Profile of Artist:

Jamnalal is a traditional terracotta artist who is actively designing his wide variety of terracotta and a range of art pottery since more than 3 decades in his village Molela in Rajasthan. He is a master craftsperson who originally comes from a family where terracotta art is being practiced since many generations.

Jamna Lal Kumhar has participated in a number of exhibitions in India and abroad such as Kalagram Crafts fair, the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, The Academy of Fine Arts, Prague and the Frida Steinburger Exhibition, Israel. He has received the Rajasthan State Award and the National Award.

His studio is known as the Kalpataru Terracotta Art, Research and Training Centre. Molela sculptures have a unique style in the form of narrative plaques, tiles and murals made from the mud dug out of the banks of the river Banas. His amazing art is made only by organic raw material.

To promote the traditional terracotta art of Molela he actively participates in workshops, exhibitions and demonstration worldwide
